Construction Trades

This program provides a foundation in basic residential and commercial construction, preparing students for a successful career in the fields of skilled craft person, construction management or engineering. Instruction includes the proper and safe use of tools, footings and foundations, metal and wood framing and roof structures, estimation of labor and materials, city and county building codes, lot development and design process and blueprint reading.

Pre-Requisites: Junior/senior standing. Returning students must have a B or better their first year and instructor approval

Sessions Offered: AM Session is 8 to 10:30 a.m. Monday through Friday. PM Session is 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. Monday through Friday.

Length of Program: 1-2 years

Location: Tri-Tech

Equivalency Credits: 1.0 Math , 0.5 Technical English 1 or 2

Occupational/Elective Credits: 3 per Year

Text Reading Levels: The texts are written at the college level
