About Dental Assisting
Start a career making beautiful smiles in the Dental Assisting program. Learn alongside dental professionals to ensure patients receive outstanding treatment. Be prepared for employment after high school or additional education to become a dental hygienist or dentist. Internships available to qualified students. Seniors will have priority placement.
For Grades: 11-12
Course Length: 1 year
Credit: .5 Technical English, 1.0 Lab Science, 1.5 Occupational Elective (Year-long course must be completed)

Location: Tri-Tech Skills Center
Students Will Learn:
- Perform a wide range of dental office operations including x-rays, chair side assistance and instrument transfer.
- Mix cements, sealers, take oral impressions and learn sterilization and disinfection procedures.
- Oral anatomy, medical terminology and charting.
- Students must be able to communicate well with others and work independently in diverse environments as a team member.
