About Pre-Physical Therapy
The Pre-Physical Therapy course is a starting point into the fields of Sports Medicine, Therapeutic Services, Ultrasound Technician, Radiology Tech or Radiologist, Neurologist, Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy, Speech Therapy, Respiratory Therapy, Chiropractic, Orthotics and Prosthetics. This course will teach you medical terminology, anatomy and physiology, lab procedures, taping techniques and hands-on medical skills. Internships are available for qualified students.
For Grades: 11-12
Course Length: 1 or 2 years
Credit: .5 Technical English, 1.0 Fitness, 1.0 Lab Science, .5 Health
Prerequisite: None
Location: Tri-Tech Skills Center
Students Will Learn:
- Hands-on medical skills, taping techniques, patient safety, hands-on therapy, stretching, exercises, and therapeutic equipment use
- Anatomy and physiology, medical terminology

College credits available: 28 credits, points toward admission to Spokane Falls Community College Physical Therapy Assistant and Occupational Therapist Assistant programs.
Year-long course must be completed to be eligible for the Technical English, Health, or Science credit.
