About Pre-Veterinary Technician
A day in the life of a veterinary assistant is rarely routine! If you love working with animals and don’t mind hard work or getting your hands dirty, this program will help you build the skills to land a job right after high school and prepare you for a college veterinary technician program.
- For Grades: 11-12
- Course Length: 1 or 2 years
- Credit: .5 Technical English, .5 Math, .5 Science, 1.5 Occupational Elective (Year-long course must be completed)
- Prerequisite: None
- Location: Tri-Tech Skills Center
Students Will Learn:
- Experience the reward of caring for live animals.
- Work side-by-side with certified professionals in the delivery of quality animal health care services.
- Explore the science of veterinary medicine including animal control, grooming, clinical procedures, terminology and disease prevention.
