Pre-Physical Therapy
Program Description: The Pre-Physical Therapy class is designed to provide students with a hand-on experience in evaluation, acute care and rehabilitation skills. This program will also teach students about Kinesiology (the study of human movement), human anatomy and physiology, ethics, rehabilitation techniques, therapeutic equipment and taping procedures. This course is a first stop for students interested in becoming a Strength and Conditioning Coach, Massage Therapy, Physical Therapy Assistant, Physical Therapist, Occupational Therapist or Orthopedics. |
Certification Opportunities: BLS CPR/First Aid, 7 hours AIDS/HIV, Washington State Suicide Prevention and Certified Kineseo Taping Technician
Career Opportunities: Physical therapy aide, physical therapy assistant, physical therapist, orthopedic physician, surgical implant specialist
Pre-requisites: Junior/senior standing and successful screening by the Washington State Patrol. STEM related classess recommended.
Length of Program: 1 -2 years (2nd year by instructor recommendation)
Location: Tri-Tech. Internships are available for qualified students and students will need to provide their own transportation.
Equivalency Credits: 0.5 Technical English 1 or 2, 1.0 Lab Science, 1.0 Fitness and 0.5 Health
Occupational/Elective Credits: 3 per year
College Credits Available: up to 23 credits
Program Requirement: Program uniform
